Where are your products made?
Our recipes are developed in our test kitchen, located in Maine. Once a product has passed our high-quality standards and is deemed ready for our customers, the product is produced in our commercial kitchen in Auburn, Maine, from which it is packaged and shipped to our customers.
Where can I find your products?
Our products can be ordered directly through our website, in many of the country's leading gourmet food catalogs, and at gourmet and specialty food stores throughout the country.
Do you have a restaurant?
Hancock Gourmet Lobster Company does not have a restaurant.
How are recipes developed?
Inspired by family recipes, Cal Hancock and executive chef Kevin Messier develop and test new combinations to create the highest quality products for our customers. After many rounds of revisions, the recipes are tested by our entire staff and a select group of our loyal customers to ensure the taste meets our gourmet standards. We then do extensive testing to ensure that our products maintain the highest level of quality when shipped to our customers.
Are all of your products frozen?
We offer Lobster Gazpacho and fresh Lobster Salad (and Lobster Rolls), all of which are delivered fresh and ready to prepare and serve upon arrival. Though these items cannot be frozen, the majority of our products can be frozen for up to 12 months.
What is the shelf life for your products?
Though the shelf life varies for our fresh products, most of our frozen products are best consumed up to 12 months after they are delivered.
How do you ship your products?
Since our products are primarily perishable goods, we ship our products with UPS, using standard or overnight delivery. All of our packages are shipped "signature release". This means UPS will leave the package without requiring a signature.
We carefully pack our products in thick Styrofoam containers, including frozen, reusable gel packs or dry ice to maintain products in good condition until arrival. Partially thawed products are still usable/edible.
Do you ship internationally?
Unfortunately, we are not able to ship internationally at this time. We are also not able to deliver food packages to PO boxes, FPOs or APOs.
